‘Tell us when Brexit will happen’, demands business tycoon

‘Tell us when Brexit will happen’, demands business tycoon

THE chair of a hard-line Brexit group has demanded that Theresa May sets out the timing for Britain leaving the European Union before the banking crisis engulfing the continent explodes.

Richard Tice says Theresa May must reveal the timetable for Brexit
Ahead of the Conservative Party Conference in Birmingham, the Prime Minister is coming under increasing pressure to reveal when she will trigger Article 50.

Brexit pressure group Leave Means Leave says questions will be asked about Mrs May’s commitment to Brexit if she does not set out the timing for the divorce in her conference speech.

Made up of hardline Brexiteers, the group is calling for the UK to leave the EU's single market, along with ending Brussels' influence on British law and scrapping the free movement of Europeans.

Leave Means Leave Chair Richard Tice told Express.co.uk: “We live in an uncertain world and there is so much uncertainty about the continental banking system that is growing by the week.

“My biggest fear is that when the banking crisis blows up between now and Christmas and if Theresa May hasn’t given certainty then pressure from grumpy Remainers will be we must wait to trigger article 50, but that is nonsense.

“Let’s give the whole process some certainty, it would be a real positive.”

Speculation is rife about when Mrs May will trigger Article 50 with EU bureaucrats saying it could happen in February, but Number 10 has refused to confirm a date.

Businessman Mr Tice said he commends Mrs May for refusing to give a running commentary on negotiations but maintained Downing Street must reassure the public and trigger Article 50 by the end of March 2017.

Mr Tice said investors, businesses and consumers need certainty or confidence to invest will reduce.

He said: “We are urging her to give some certainty to the timing of serving Article 50 and then potentially an end date to when we will definitely leave.

Theresa May has refused to give a running commentary on Brexit negotiations
“We believe she should serve it no later than quarter one next year and she should commit to people that we will definitely leave two years and one day after that.

“You can’t give a running commentary but you can give everyone some certainty that it is going to happen, and when, and what the end date is.

“She should clarify that with or without a deal with the EU, we leave.

“She needs to give businesses some certainty about the timing and they need to then go quiet and get on with it, then everyone knows where they stand.

“I think it’s going to dominate conference and she’s got to say something along these lines in her speech.

Mr Tice said the commitment of Liam Fox, David Davis and Boris Johnson cannot be questioned   “If she doesn’t people will start to ask why not.

“It’s not that difficult. The timing should be clear and clean cut. Otherwise people start to use excuses and drift.

“There are people trying to make it over complicated and all Theresa May needs to set out is the timing.

“If she doesn’t we will keep campaigning. We have got a very strong political advisory group with senior MPs and they will campaign in parliament and we will be keeping up the pressure on her.

After 6 years as home secretary, New Prime Minister Theresa May is probably best known for her tough stance on immigration. Take a look as what she has to say on the subject.
'Brexit means Brexit', Theresa May has appointed Eurosceptic David Davis as minister in charge of the UK's withdrawal from the EU . “If she doesn’t it would raise questions about her commitment.

“There’s no question about the commitment of the Three Brexiteers and I understand she is the Prime Minister and has to absorb the information properly but she has had enough time to set out the timing.

“What I’m hearing from business-people is that whatever their voting persuasion they are saying ‘we have made the decision now let’s get on with it’.”

The campaign for a “hard Brexit” has won the support of several key Tory politicians, including former justice minister Dominic Raab, and former defence minister Sir Gerald Howarth - who chairs the Thatcherite group Conservative Way Forward.

Mr Tice’s comments come after leading Brexiteer Liam Fox said Brexit was an opportunity to forge a new free trade consensus "as a newly independent WTO member outside the EU".

Far too much confusion is presently become apparent in connection with BREXIT.
In Britain as well as in Europe.

The British negotiation team is divided into 3 departments, all disagreeing!!

The EU team is hand-picked for their dislike of Britain, and will make the divorce as painful and expensive as possible.

The signing of article 50 will subject us to EU laws and regulations for a further 2 years, stopping us from developing new trade partners or make ANY alterations contrary to the benefit of EU. You can rest assured that these laws and regulations will be abused to their limits.

EU is on the brink of signing the CETA trade agreement with Canada, which is no less damaging than TTIP, which will also include Britain as long as we remain within the union.

To any clear minded person, the fact is, Britain must grab the steer by the horns and make an independent statement of permanent withdrawal from the union, at the latest in October this year, WITHOUT signing article 50.

The people of Britain have spoken: BREXIT means BREXIT !!!

Britain will take back laws from EU by introducing ´the Great Repeal Bill´?
Britain should take back laws from EU already at the time of evoking §50.

Can not see the point of invoking ´the great repeal bill´ two years after we sign §50, at which point we will be out of EU control ANYWAY??

If not, Britain would be hamstrung with EU laws and rules for another 2 years, making it impossible to negotiate alternative trade agreements.

Be certain, these rules will be heavily enforced by  a vengeful EU as in a bitter divorce case.

We can not wait two years to start improving our economy.

Parliament already have a plan to replace the ECHR with our own, existing human right charter.
