Jade Helm begins today - 15 July 2015
The U.S. Military has held big domestic war games before, but none of them turned out like this one. None set off thousands of fears of the end of America, or roused suspicions of local residents who wondered if the Army was up to no good.
None saw the governor of the nation's second biggest state call up his armed forces to watch over the federal troops.
Today, as somewhere in Texas the soldiers begin to practice for war, dozens of days-old Facebook groups host Texans' worried chatter of what this drill could bring. The Army says, and has said, time and time again, that it is nothing but a routine drill, meant to ready special forces for combat overseas. But some folks--apparently a lot of folks--aren't buying it.
